Who do you look up to and why? My mom and uncles. They all have faced adversity in different ways, pushed me to challenge myself, and supported me when things got tough.
What does a perfect Saturday in Kansas City look like? The perfect Saturday starts at the River Market with my family, looking through all the vendors, grabbing a cranberry orange scone from Bloom Bakery, and seeing the beautiful bouquets of flowers. Next, we jump on the streetcar to Union Station to walk around and visit Science City with the kiddos. Then visiting El Patron for some tacos on Southwest Boulevard.
Do you have a favorite book and why? “The Body Keeps the Score” by Bessel Van der Kolk, M.D. – It explains trauma, the brain, and history of PTSD in a way that everyone can comprehend and digest. I feel that it is one of the most valuable texts in a clinician’s library.
