Tee Off Fore Tri-County Mental HealthOn Monday, we are hosting our third annual Tee Off Fore Tri-County fundraising event. The weather looks ideal, and we have a fun evening planned. There will be auctions, contests, raffles, and lots of great people in attendance for the festivities.

Some people may wonder what golf has to do with Tri-County’s work as the safety net provider of mental health and substance use services in the Northland. Several years ago, our main annual fundraiser was a sit-down dinner with a speaker addressing a topic on mental health.

Initially, we switched to Tee Off Fore Tri-County because of the COVID virus. The unique lay-out of T-Shotz allows guests to get together with less risk of exposure because the building is wide open on one side. It is like being outside without being exposed to weather.

We are continuing on with this format because it has a fresh, positive energy that allows us to present our work in a fun environment. We know from our work that positive interaction with friends and family is a powerful tool against depression, and that is exactly what our participants will be enjoying.

The Tee-Off event also will empower people to help. There will be auctions, games and raffles that will raise money to help people in our community. (If you want to participate in the raffle, you need not be present to win, and can buy tickets here.) Additionally, we will be having a “Fund-A-Need” drive, where people can bid to help the families and children we serve have a happy holiday season. All money raised during the Fund-A-Need drive will go toward gifts and food to help bring smiles to the faces of the children impacted by mental health issues.

T-Shotz is a Northland venue centered around golf, and I know that the participants are going to have a great evening even if they aren’t golfers. We all need good times with friends, and Monday evening will provide that opportunity. More importantly, though, it will provide a chance to make the world a better place for those in our community who need our help.

We are so grateful for our sponsors for this year’s event. Thank you to all who attended and for those organizations who sponsored. For a full list of the sponsors, please visit our event page.
