Amy Heithoff-Dominguez is a Master’s prepared Registered Nurse who advocates for those who struggle with health and mental health concerns. Originally from Nebraska, her first job as an intensive care nurse brought her to Kansas City 40 years ago.

Her husband is Andres Dominguez, an Impact Strategist at the Health Forward Foundation.  Amy is the very proud mother of Sophia, 25, an attorney in Los Angeles, CA, and son, Cayo, 21, a Junior at KU.  Amy and her family have been residents of Platte County for over 21 years, and active members of their community in many different ways, including but not limited to, Board members of many distinctive agencies.

Amy has held positions in intensive and cardiac care, dialysis, & psychiatric care. She started a Nurse Case Manager company and has been working with group health plans and workers’ compensation cases as well as recently taking on elder care cases privately.  Amy is an avid gardener, sewist, antique collector & recently became a Travel Advisor.

When invited to join the Governing Board of Beacon Mental Health, Amy was thrilled to find a new avenue to advocate for those who have mental illnesses in our community. She has become an active member of the Board and worked with other Board members to promote Beacon’s Birdies Fore Beacon annual fundraising event.
