Tammy Long has served as Billing Manager for Tri-County Mental Health Services for 21 years. She enjoys fishing for bass, two-stepping the night away at famed music venue Knuckleheads Saloon in KC’s East Bottoms and vacationing in New Orleans.

What do you like to do in your free time? Fishing and spending time with family. Most people don’t know, I am one heck of a bass fisherman. I caught a 5 ½ pound catfish at Smithville Lake. It clamped down on my boyfriend’s thumb and it wouldn’t let go. I was proud of that one.

Who do you look up to and why? My dad. He is my hero and always been there for good management advice.

Do you have any pets? I have two Boston Terriers named Mossy and Hoss. We also rescued an English Bulldog named Winnie, and I am her person. No one can touch me when she is around.

What’s your go-to karaoke song? “Sleeping Single in a Double Bed” by Barbara Mandrell. My sister is a music teacher so one year she and I sang the theme song to Phantom of the Opera. It was awesome. I sang the Phantom part.

What’s your favorite Kansas City hangout or activity? Two-stepping at Knuckleheads. We have seen David Allen Coe at Knuckleheads, and he was great. Our favorite band to dance to is Eleven Hundred Springs or Kevin Fowler. I like any country music that Randy can swing me around the dance floor.

What is your dream vacation? Always New Orleans!
