Everyone has been impacted by the pandemic, even kids. This is why we’ve created a self-care video and post for kids to help out parents, teachers, and children. Read on to discover why it is so important to take care of ourselves and explore a few easy ways to incorporate self-care in your day-to-day. 

So, what is the big deal? Why do we need to take care of ourselves?

Because we are… MAGICAL! Learning self-care early on can give us better resilience and help us better regulate our emotions and stress in the future. Self-care can look like a lot of different things. Below is a list of ways we can take care of ourselves. Try some of them out and see what makes you feel the best.

Ways we can take care of ourselves are by:

  • Playing! (Remember not to touch, but have fun!)
  • Being safe (by washing hands often)
  • Making art
  • Speaking kindly to ourselves and others
  • Eating good food
  • Being safely together (use airplane wings apart)
  • Giving your pets a hug
  • Learning new things
  • Thinking happy thoughts
  • Moving your body
