Tri-County Heart and Sole 5K will be May 11 at Macken Park
News Release – Tri-County Mental Health Services invites the community to join efforts to raise awareness and reduce stigma for children and families challenged with mental illness at its annual 5K run/walk. This year’s Heart and Sole 5K Run/Walk will at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 11 at Macken Park in North Kansas City, Mo. at the corners of Clark Ferguson Drive and Howell Street.
This event will support Tri-County’s Children’s Services. Proceeds from the r
un/walk will help sustain holiday assistance programs for children and families as well as other end-of-year initiatives for youth.

The cost before May 1 is $25 per runner a
nd after is $30 per runner. Packet pick-up will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Chicken and Pickle, 1761 Burlington St, North Kansas City, Mo. 64116. Runners and the community is invited to Chicken and Pickle for an after run breakfast on race day from 9 to 11 when 10 percent of the morning sales will be donated to Tri-County Mental Health.
Runners may register on the day of the race between 7 and 8 a.m. The Heart and Sole runners start at 8 a.m. and walkers will begin immediately following. A “Fun Run” begins at 9 a.m.
The top three male and female runners will receive awards. All finishers will receive a Heart and Sole 5K finisher’s medal.
