We’re taking time this month to reflect on the past 12 months, and looking towards a brighter future with vaccines and the reduction of the virus in our communities.

When COVID-19 hit in March of 2020, we quickly transitioned from in-person services to nearly all virtual services conducted via phone and video.

Today, we are hopeful that we can soon be offering more of our services in person. Until all of our three county health departments lift protocols, our safety restrictions remain in place.

Thank you to all of the team members at Tri-County Mental Health who rose to the occasion during these past months. It started with our Crisis and Intake teams who immediately recognized that our clients needed us more than ever during a global pandemic. From there, the entire team jumped in and did whatever it took to ensure we continued to provide the best care and support for our current clients and for those in our community who had not previously called upon Tri-County, but needed our help for the first time because of the pandemic. And then we had to get creative. From drive-through assessments to virtual client appointments to outdoor patio support groups – Tri-County found a way to maintain contact and support for those who needed us.

As we navigate 2021, Tri-County Mental Health continues to thrive and provide essential behavioral health services to people in need in Clay, Platte and Ray counties. We are doing so through phone, video and some in-person services – as we continue to focus on the safety and health of our staff and clients.

We are very aware of the increase in stress, depression and risk of suicide that comes with a public health crisis. To that end, we are making sure our assessment and crisis response teams are available with sufficient back-up to respond to the rising mental health needs in our community.

Through our website, blog, email and social channels, Tri-County will continue to update the public on any changes in our services related to COVID-19.
