Maria Theoharidis has served on the Tri-County Board of Directors since 2018, and she has been a valuable source of perspectives. As a female business owner (Mid-America Law Firm, LLC), a mother of 2, a child of immigrants and a Northland attorney whose practice focuses on social security disability and guardianship.
As a social security disability and guardianship attorney, she helps individuals dealing with disabilities. She enjoys connecting people to the services they need, and she is especially proud of the services offered through Tri-County. When staff members present our programs during board meetings, Maria often asks questions to learn more about how she can tell people about what is available.
Maria says that if you have seen the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” you have already met her family. Turning more serious, though, she says that she is “super proud” of her parents for making the decision to come to the United States, where Maria has found so many opportunities as the first generation American. Maria loves sports and Kansas City. Her 7-year-old daughter, Isabella, plays soccer and tennis all year long, and her 4-year-old son, Roman, is a budding soccer star. When sports are not absorbing their free time, they enjoy exploring the city.
Tri-County depends on volunteer board members like Maria to bring their perspectives and energy to move our agency forward. As part of her board services, Maria is working to make this year’s Tee Off Fore Tri-County fundraiser even bigger and better!
