Kansas City, MO – July 22, 2025 – Beacon Mental Health today announced that Tom Petrizzo, Chief Executive Officer, will be retiring, effective August 22, 2025, and Kristin Feeback, Ph.D. will succeed him as CEO.
“Tom has been an exceptional leader for Beacon Mental Health for over eleven years,” said Troy Rust, Beacon Mental Health Board of Directors Chair. “Under his leadership, the company has more than doubled in size, become certified as one of the first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics(CCBHC) in the country, added a large school-based team to serve Clay County students, reestablished the charitable arm Beacon Foundation, as well as fostered investment and revenue growth to achieve fiscal stability. We are deeply grateful for his dedication and service.”
Tom Petrizzo stated, “It has been a privilege to lead Beacon during such a transformative period. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and confident in the company’s future under Dr. Kristin Feeback’s leadership.”
“It is my great pleasure to welcome Kristin Feeback, Psy.D., as the next CEO at Beacon Mental Health, starting August 18th upon my retirement. Dr. Feeback is the current CEO of CommCARE and brings a great wealth of knowledge and experience in the behavioral health field. I am confident she will provide the vital leadership and vision necessary to continue the strong community mission of Beacon Mental Health as it moves forward to meet the mental health needs of people in the Northland. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Feeback to Beacon Mental Health and our Northland Community.”
Dr. Kristin Feeback brings over 23 years of experience as a distinguished operational and clinical leader in the behavioral health field. She most recently served as President and CEO of CommCARE and Alternatives EAP, where she led transformative initiatives to strengthen mental health services across diverse metropolitan communities.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to join Beacon Mental Health as its next CEO. This organization has a long-standing reputation for compassionate, community-centered care, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead and serve alongside such a dedicated team.”
“This new chapter is both exciting and meaningful to me. I look forward to building upon Beacon’s strong foundation to further expand access to high-quality mental health services throughout Clay, Platte, and Ray Counties.”
“As someone who has spent over two decades in behavioral health, I am driven by the belief that mental health care should be accessible, responsive, and rooted in community. Beacon’s mission perfectly aligns with those values, and I am excited to help shape its future.”
“I have always believed in the power of collaboration and community-based solutions. I’m eager to work closely with staff, partners, and stakeholders to enhance the impact of Beacon’s programs and ensure every individual and family has the support they need to thrive.”
