Mark McAuliffe is an active member of Beacon Mental Health’s Foundation Board. Mark owns a company called The McAuliffe Group, which is focused on leadership development, business consulting, and personal transformation. They work with business owners, executives, and organizations to clarify vision, create strategic growth, and build high-performance cultures rooted in character and service. Mark reports that at our core, we believe everything rises and falls on leadership, and we’re committed to helping leaders live and lead with purpose, discipline, and legacy in mind.

Mark was born and raised right here in the Northland. He reports that he is a 3rd generation Northlander and that his family owned the Clay County Food Mart “The Locker” off Antioch and Vivian Road for 35 years. Mark reports that “I love the Northland and very proud to call it home.  It’s where I’ve been blessed to raise my family, grow my business, and invested my heart and time in the community.”

Mark joined Beacon’s Foundation Board because he feels the agency’s mission aligns with his personal calling to help people “discover their potential and live full-out.” Mark reports that the “impact Beacon has on families and students—through stability, education, and hope—is profound. I have several family members who have benefited from the amazing services Beacon provides, from counseling to residential living. So, I am very connected to Beacon and can share firsthand stories of the significance it makes on the people it helps provide for. Serving on the Foundation Board allows me to play a small part in helping build brighter futures and give back to Beacon for what it does right here in the Northland.”

On a personal note, Mark reports that he is a proud husband and father of two amazing kids. He calls himself a golf junkie, loves to bike ride, and has a deep appreciation for good barbecue and even better conversations. Mark also reports that he is a proud founding partner of the John Maxwell Team, Maxwell Leadership and is an avid reader. Mark has been with his wife for 6 decades, and he strives to “live each day with intention—mentally, physically, and spiritually.”

Other than working with Beacon’s Foundation Board, Mark has been active with several groups throughout the year, including serving on the Liberty Chamber, Northland Chamber, Liberty Community Christmas Tree board, American Cancer Society, Kearney High School programs, coaching business leaders, and serving in various economic development roles throughout Clay County. He reports that he has helped lead community leadership programs and enjoys working and guiding the next generation of leaders.

Finally, when asked what he liked about working with Beacon Mental Health, Mark responded, “The people. The passion. The purpose. Every time I hear a story of transformation or meet someone whose life has been touched by Beacon’s work, it reinforces why we do what we do. I love being part of a mission that delivers real impact, right here at home.”
